Ironically, as social media has advanced, it’s become less connected. The space on my feed that was once occupied by friends, family, and the creators I care about has been taken over by ads, and addictive suggested posts to keep me on the platform, in a daze, ready to receive the next ad.

The least amount of community I have witnessed in my 14 years of being online has been Instagram in the way I see it now. And the platform that I see potential in for community, TikTok, is likely to be banned from the US.

And even if it’s not banned, who’s to say it won’t turn out just like Instagram did, once it finds needs to make a bigger ROI for its investors?
