Anthony Cubbage is a Troy, NY-based, mountain-loving, philosophy-seeking musician, photographer, and audio engineer/producer who has been doing music full time since 2016. Since then, he's scored award-winning films, released multiple full-length albums, toured the continent twice, garnered millions of streams through original music projects AGE of the BEAR (solo/folk), Page 1 (hip-hop/r&b), and Cubbage (indie rock), written and recorded with grammy award-winning musicians such as Scott Hoying from Pentatonix, recorded and narrated multiple audiobooks on Audible, and most recently doing professional photography and songwriting lessons. His music can be described as an indie folk base with occasional hints of pop, rock, and jazz.

AGE of the BEAR (multi-instrumentalist and producer Anthony Cubbage) began his music career when he left college in January 2016, and immediately started recording demos, then traveling the country for 2 years, busking in major cities, and exploring United States' national parks, writing and recording among the trees and waters of places like Yosemite, Olympic, Badlands, and Yellowstone National Parks. 

That life-defining experience leaked into his songwriting, turning into the majority of his debut album Rivers. Since then, Cubbage has garnered millions of streams under multiple original projects - AGE of the BEAR (solo/folk), Page 1 (hip-hop/r&b), and Cubbage (indie rock), written and recorded with Grammy Award winning artists such as Scott Hoying from Pentatonix, and toured internationally as the keyboard player for the band Nicotine Dolls.

Cubbage is now preparing to release his self-produced sophomore album Oceans: ode the isolated artist this summer (2025), and continues to release music independently with the help of his Patreon supporters.

It’s a little less than 24 hours until the release of “Waterfell”. Originally, this was supposed to just be another single, but then the undiagnosed ADHD in me got carried away and some deep sidetracks occurred (pun intended?). So Waterfell kinda happened accidentally. But in a weird universe-y way it ended up working. The EP is bookended by one song reacting to an experience, and another song accepting that experience. I’ll talk more the main single “Rainy Days” soon, but would love for you guys to build your own thoughts about it on Friday. Talk to you all soon 🧡

Needed some new photos so I headed to my favorite new spot near Hudson with a view of the Green Mountains in VT 🏔️ and took some self portraits 😂. If you didn’t hear - new music this Friday! One of my favorite songs on the upcoming album, an instrumental, and an acoustic alternate version of Falling From Heaven are on this batch. For the single on this EP, “Rainy Days,” I took a bit of a different approach than the rest on the record. Rather than playing all the instruments and mixing on this one, I decided to trust the wonderful @groove_dispenser with the drums 🥁 @bryandaste who’s shared the stage with Head and the Heart on some pedal steel guitar 🙌🏼, and @heyzachhughes with his mixing mastery 🎧🔊. Not to be confused with mastering lol. This is actually the first EP I’ve mastered myself which is scary but also exciting. I wanted to take my time with every song to make sure it came out at the very end the way they felt when I recorded it (in the closet 😂). Can’t wait for you guys to hear it and hope you like it 😊. Seriously though, I can’t wait to share this song and the concept behind the EP, leading into more singles and eventually an album later this year. Thank you guys so much for listening to these stories that mean so much to me 🧡.
Some songs are just meant to ride that line of imperfection. They require heightening your vocal awareness to bring out what a song is saying somewhere between and outside the notes. Ray Lamontagne’s is a master at this, and Jolene’s one of my favorites to practice this with. Also one of my favorite songs of all time.
